Classification of historical sources. The diversity of historical sources requires their classification. There is no consensus on this issue.
Historical sources are divided into six groups. The main groups of historical sources and comments on their composition are given in the table below (see Table 3.1).
The distribution of historical sources may in some cases be conditional, as there are sources that can be applied to both material, ethnographic and written sources. In the process of scientific research, a wide range of resources are used, therefore the sciences that study these resources interact with each other and with the research fields that contribute to this work.
The collection and preservation of historical sources has always been of state importance. Archives, museums, and reserves were created for this purpose, and special care was taken towards ensuring that the historical monuments are passed down from generation to generation.
