In 1932 the International Basketball Federation - BBF was established. The federation included Argentina, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Portugal, Romania, Sweden and Czechoslovakia (8 countries). In 1935, the first European championship was held in Geneva. The Pribaltics basketball players ranked high in this championship. The first European champion was the Latvian team. The first European women's championship was held in 1938. In 1935, basketball was included in the Olympic Games. In 1936, basketball players from 21 countries participated in the XI Olympiad (Berlin-Germany). This was the first BBF congress. Congress adopted a uniform rule for basketball. 1948-1956 is the third stage of basketball development. BBF - has been at the forefront of other international sports teams. International competitions and championships are held under the auspices of BBF. Already in 1948 there were 50 countries in the International Basketball Federation. In 1950, Argentina hosted the men's world championship for the first time, and Argentineans won. Three years later, Chile hosted the world championship for women's teams. US athletes won the title of world champion. Then the championships were held every four years. Basketball competitions for championships and trophies are organized every year under the direction of BBF. According to the decision of the IOC, women's teams were included in the 21st Olympics in 1976 (Montreal-Canada). Basketball has now become the most developed and beloved game in the world. The International Federation currently unites the National Federation of 167 countries. In 1984, for the first time in the United States, official rules of play were published, and on this basis, competitions began. With the spread of the game, his technique and tactics were also formed. Techniques such as catching, transferring, carrying and throwing the ball came into play.
