1.2.2 Game features
The game is a complex and multifaceted phenomenon. The following functions can be distinguished:
Teaching function -development of general educational skills and abilities, such as memory, attention, perception and others. In the process of learning a foreign language, you have to memorize a lot of new words, learn to perceive foreign speech, learn to work with the Internet, with sites in a foreign language, make it more interesting through the game, irga facilitates the learning process.
Communicative function -uniting children and adults, establishing emotional contacts, developing communication skills. A foreign language is a means of communication with representatives of another culture, in a foreign language lesson it is quite difficult to reproduce the situation of unprepared communication, so the game is an indispensable activity in the lesson. It allows you to expand the scope of the lesson to overcome the language barrier, the mistake of "fear", awkwardness that may occur in children when expressing thoughts in a foreign language.
Psychotechnical function -the formation of skills to prepare one's psychophysical state for more effective activity, the restructuring of the psyche for intensive assimilation. When learning a foreign language, it is necessary to learn a large amount of new material, and this requires a good mental and physical condition of the children, the game allows you to create the right mood.
Relaxation function -removal of emotional (physical) stress caused by stress on the child's nervous system during intensive study, work. A modern child has to study a large number of different subjects. The study load does not always correspond to the age characteristics of the child. A foreign language lesson and a game is a great opportunity to relax, unwind, diversify an ordinary school day.
Entertainment function -creating a favorable atmosphere in the classroom, turning a lesson, other forms of communication between an adult and a child from a boring event into an exciting adventure. Learning a language should never become a routine, it should be made interesting.
The function of self-expression -the desire of the child to realize his creative abilities in the game, to fully discover his potential. In foreign language lessons, you need to give the child this opportunity, to realize themselves, and in the game it is much easier to do this.
Compensatory function -creating conditions for satisfying personal aspirations that are not feasible (difficult to implement) in real life. In addition, in the game, the child learns how to convey his thoughts, express his desires, using the means of communication available to him.
