Letter from the Editor 

 

Dear Readers: 

We are pleased to present the newest issue of the information bulletin The Third Sector News.  

In Azerbaijan, there has, until very recently been extremely limited information available about 

local NGOs.  While the press does cover NGO activity in the country, our bulletin is one of the 

few publications dedicated to this theme.  Our bulletin serves as a forum for local NGOs to learn 

of each other's activities and helps the international community, business and government 

structures to obtain information about the activities of nongovernmental organizations. With our 

publications we hope to demonstrate the important role that local NGOs play in Azerbaijani 

society. 

In addition, we are a bulletin of resources.  NGO members can receive information they need, 

such as announcements about conferences or grants, information about useful Internet sites and 

partnership projects.  However, The Third Sector News is a valuable tool not only for 

representatives of the local NGO sector.  In the pages of our bulletin you can learn about 

people's dedication and their original ideas, and about the ways in which Azerbaijanis are 

working to solve problems in their society.   

 

Lastly, we would like you to keep in mind that we are always open to your input.  We invite you to  

send us any comments or suggestions you may have. Only with your support can we continue to 

make our bulletin more useful and interesting.
