One does not always have the opportunity to make the gold spongy by means of a reverberatory furnace - which in itself is the best. However, a pure gold lime can also be obtained as follows:
We take fine gold which we dissolve in aqua regia, we precipitate it with oleo tartari, we sweeten it well and we let it dry slowly. But before drying it, we mix it with sulphurous flora. The moisture is allowed to evaporate, the sulfur is then burned and the lime is washed well with distilled water.
