1.7 List of Abbreviations
If included, the list of abbreviations must appear on separate pages and are governed by the same rules as the list of tables. A sample list of abbreviations is provided by department.
Introduction
Introduction – brief overview explaining the background and importance of the study and must consist of following sub-sections:
Statement of Problem – specifically what the researcher wants to know; format to be
determined by the department
Purpose of the Study – explanation of the problem and what the researcher hopes to
achieve by conducting the study.
Significance of the Study- As part of the purpose of the study, there should be justification for conducting the project. This section should exhibit a clear understanding of what makes your study significant and why it should be conducted.
