The method of gravimetric surveys

Gravimetric prospecting survey is subdivided into areal and profile. Areal survey is when observation points are more or less equally (proportionally) placed on the studied territory.

Areal survey allows obtaining more complete pattern of the disdtributin of the gravitational force anomaly and is the main in gravimetric prospecting. Based on the data of the areal survey, a map of gravitational force anomaly is plotted for the overall studied territory.

Profile survey allows conducting the observations by separate profiles isolated from each other. This type of research allows obtaining only general overview about variations of the anomalous gravitational force alongside the prospecting profile. As a result of profile survey, graphs of gravitational force anomalies are drawn.
