Greetings on behalf of the Brothers of Pi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., (Chapter).
Founded on the campus of Howard University in Washington, D.C. on January 9, 1914, our fraternity is an international association of over 150,000 college-educated men with 650 chapters around the world. From the three honorable Founders in 1914, the scroll of Sigma Men lists some of the world’s most esteemed achievers and leaders. We are Men of Vision. Men of Service. Men of Leadership.
For nearly 100 years, Phi Beta Sigma has attracted the best and brightest collegiate and professional leaders. Some of the most notable members include such historical icons as Dr. George Washington Carver, Dr. Alain LeRoy Locke and A. Philip Randolph; political and civil servants as Congressman John Lewis, Congressman Edolphus Towns, President William “Bill” Clinton and rev. Al Sharpton; athletes and Emmit Smith, Jerry Rice, Hines Ward and Richard Sherman.; entertainment personalities as Malik Yoba, Terrence Howard, Blair Underwood and Al Roker. These are only a sampling of the many powerful men affiliated with this great organization.
As we seek to add good men to the rolls of Sigma and advance the Fraternity’s motto of “Culture for Service and Service for Humanity”, we’re interested in you learning more about our organization, its history and membership.
