I think that architecture is fundamental in terms of culture. Culture can be defined in many
different ways and is related to a country's history, customs, festivals, food, and religion, but I
think that architecture plays a very important role too because each country has its own
architecture. In my opinion, architecture is an art form and tourists always want to visit impressive
monuments that represent a country's identity: for example, the United States is famous for its
impressive skyscrapers; European nations like France and Italy are renowned for their ancient
buildings (with Gothic or Renaissance architecture)
.
In China, I think that people know about the
inclined roofs of our old buildings and temples
.
They look like a bird's wings (use your hands)
.
If
you look at a picture of a house, you can probably guess which country the architectural style
belongs to.
3. In the future, would you rather live in the city or in the countryside?
I would definitely prefer living in the countryside in the future because urban areas are too
busy, too noisy, and traffic is usually impossible. Roads are always congested; buses are packed
( =
very crowded) every morning and night. I'd rather live in a peaceful place, especially if I
had a car to get around. I think my life and my family's lifestyle would be much more pleasant.
The only possible problem could be to find a good school for my children. Right now the
education in rural areas is not as good as in the city. However, that might change in the future.
