youth culture media n. symbolic framework of norms, values and beliefs that underpin a distinctive set of social practices and identities associated with adolescents or young people. Since these reflect a particular stage of life, youth culture is commonly understood to be focused around social practices that feature dress, sport, music, styles of speaking and sex. Not all societies will feature distinctive youth cultures and the concept is peculiar to particular stages of societal change and development. Academic interest in them has accelerated since the latter half of the twentieth century by the apparent overlap between youth cultures, social change and youth-led revolutions => counter culture. mmo
zoetrope media n. from the Greek zoē, alive, active, and tropē, turn, it is a device that creates the illusion of motion by means of the quick revolution of static images achieved through the use of a rotating cylinder which has slits cut vertically in the sides at equal intervals so that while it spins an observer outside may see opposite a sequenced set of images arranged in order on the inside.
