CONCLUSION
In modern English there are grammatical and lexical expressions of modality. Grammatical features such as modal verbs must, should, ought to, will/would, can/could, may/might, need. These verbs are weakening its initial value indicated, desirable, necessary, etc. and transmit only the speaker's relationship to the content of the proposition in General. Modal verbs convey different shades of modality, starting from the assumption of bordering the confidence to assert that speaking is not sure.
Lexical means are such modal words as perhaps, maybe, probably, possibly. Their syntactic function is a function of introductory member listings. The modal words were first raised by Russian linguists in the Russian language. In foreign Linguistics this type was selected, but was not selected in the special category. The question arises how to deal with these units, a syntax which does not give a position on their morphological nature. It appears that there are two possible solutions: either they are the specific modal words, or is it an adverb that can work alongside modal words. Some foreign and Russian linguists consider that these words are adverbs, drawn into the field of modal words, without ceasing to be adverbs. However, other linguists are firmly convinced that such words as perhaps, maybe, probably, possibly should be considered as a group of modal.
Modality - the phenomenon of multi-and therefore in the linguistic literature expressed different views on the nature of this phenomenon. Semantic approaches dealing with modality are traditionally based on the principles of modal logic. There are different approaches to studying this phenomenon. Scientist tried to explain the notion of modality and created different modality classification. According to their numerous work and articles we can conclude that modality in Modern English is expressed through phonological means, lexico-grammatical, lexical and grammatical means. Other cases of modality can be expressed with the help of modal words, mood form or even intonation.
