4: Spatial Analysis

To develop spatial analysis skills, this course reveals how basic
understanding to spatial analysis concepts are implemented within
geographic information systems. Techniques are not limited but will include
the application of GIS analysis to the environment, urban planning and
natural resource management issues. Beginning with an overview of the
main functional components of GIS, the course moves into hands on
experiences with data input, data management and spatial analysis
components.

This subject provides basic training in:
•  Point pattern analysis
•  Line pattern and network analysis
•  Area objects and autocorrelation
• Geo-computation
