III. Conclusion
In conclusion, I would like to state that in his novel “The Financier” Theodore Dreiser shows a
deep knowledge of contemporary social life.
Exactly the writer’s impression of the society he lived served as the
main impulse for creating
such a masterpiece. In other words, it is a fragment of the history of mankind
that is reflected in
literature.
