Progress examples • The Angola Emergency Appeal for food security has been merged in the Regional Hunger
Crises Appeal, and a specific country plan was developed.
• Following Tropical Storm Ana (2022), the Emergency Appeal for tropical cyclone Eloise was
revised to include all floods and cyclones in the 2021/22 season, supporting 226,500 people.
• Both National Societies have been involved in COVID-19 activities through the IFRC’s global
appeal focusing on risk communication and community engagement, reaching 358,300 people
with vaccine uptake in Mozambique through the Covax facility, supported by Spanish and
Italian Red Cross Societies.
