Lake Jiltirbas was formed in this bay of surroundings of the Aral Sea , which is shallow
and consists of numerous meadows and reed groves.
Lake Jiltirbas is very important for most terrestrial animals. It is a large body of water. The
area is –
15,000 ha. KS water source - 1,2,3. The maximum depth is 4 meters, the minimum is 1m.
Lake Jiltirbas is located 50 km from the center of Chimbay district.

the construction of the dam, the water level in it was stabilized several years ago, and this water
body was the most important wetland and used land for fish against the background of the
catastrophic drying of the Aral Bay lakes. But during the 2007-2009 water shortage, the lake's water
level dropped sharply.
The State Forestry and Hunting Farm (DOOX) is located on the lake, and hunting with
fishing is actively conducted. It is quite difficult to reach the lake, the nearest settlement
Kazakhdarya is 30 km away, but during the period of high water level, the detours stretch to 80-90
km.
The lake is shallow and consists of numerous clumps of reeds (Phragmites australis). The
bottom of the lake is muddy and sandy. Thick reed beds grow along the shore and form isolated
clumps of dense reed beds in the lake's water area. The bottom is thickly covered with
myriophyllum spicatum species. Above the bottom of the lake and on the surface of the water spiral
spirogyra (Sphaerocysti) formed a light green layer. The vegetation cover of the coastal part of the
lake was dominated by such plants as the white gorse (Karelinia caspica) and the heather (Tamarix
hispida) [69, 47-51 p.; 70, www.aknuk.uz.].
The dominant of this ecosystem is reed (Phragmites australis). It formed dense thickets and
isolated islands. Underwater plants are represented by spiky urut (Myriophyllum spicatum). The
