Poi-kalyan complex
Kalyan Tower, also known as Bukhara Tower, is a tower of Juma Mosque in
the historical center of Bukhara, built in 1127 by Arslan Khan of Karakhani (1102-
1130), famous for its urban planning activities.
Kalyan
tower is a symbol of Bukhara; one of the tallest
and oldest architectural
monuments of the city; one of the most prominent buildings in the Muslim East.
The early medieval minaret, which forms a single architectural ensemble with the
Kalyan Mosque, the Miri Arab Madrasah and Amir Olim Khan, is included in the
list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites along with other
monuments in the historical
center of Bukhara.
