Example: Followers trailed behind the leaders. 3 Presumably (adv) (B2) - used to say what you think is the likely situation.
Example: They can presumably afford to buy a bigger apartment. 4 Antenna (n) - either of a pair of long, thin organs that are found on the heads of insects
and are used to feel with.
5 To proceed (v) (C2) - to do something after you have done something else.
Example: She sat down and proceeded to tell me about her skiing holiday. 6 To exhibit (v) (C1
) - to show something publicly
Example: He exhibited great self-control considering her rudeness. 7 Guidance (n) (B2) - help and advice about how to do something or about how to deal
with problems connected with your work, education, or personal relationships.
Example: She never got any guidance when she needed it. 8 To hamper (v) - to make an action intended to achieve something more difficult.
Example: Storms have been hampering rescue efforts and there is now little chance of finding more survivors. 9 Deliberately (adv) (B2) - intentionally.
Example: I’m sure he says these things deliberately to annoy me. 10 Valid (adj) (B2) - based on truth or reason; able to be accepted.
Example: My way of thinking might be different from yours, but it’s equally valid.
