ENGLAND-USA OPPOSITION AFTER WORLD WAR II IN JORDAN

SUMMARY
Within the fırst decade after the war, rivalry beetwen England and USA for authority on
Mıddle-East sharpened. It is more vivid in the history of Jordan. USA’s intent of becoming
stronger in Jordan came from England’s and France’s territories in the region. That is why,
London was trying to get closer to USA. After the war, London, having poor economy and
budget, had to step back. But this step had to be taken carefully not to lose its position in these
areas to keep its interests.
