Issues of Patriotic Education in the Works of Khalil Rza Uluturk During the Soviet Period 91 this bondage. The poet, who in his early years was a supporter of the communist ideology that
promised promising days, remained in this position for a short time. The works written in these
years cover more specific topics, are dedicated to patriotism, longing for freedom, and poems of
this kind formed the basis of the poet's work.
One of the mental qualities that determines the attitude and behavior of a person is his
character. Character is a set of psychological features of a person, which are formed and
developed in the process of personal activity, appear in special conditions and manifest in
relation to those conditions. While the positive qualities accumulated in a person's character are
considered to be of high moral quality, the negative qualities are evaluated negatively. Poets and
writers from time to time pay attention to issues related to the moral qualities of the individual in
their works. In this regard, the name of K. R. Uluturk should be especially mentioned. The poem
"Heroism" written by the poet in 1970 also artistically praises high moral qualities and condemns
negative ones.
Here, Rza describes the philosophical essence of Nasimi's poem "I can fit two worlds" and
characterizes man as the most precious jewel of nature. It shows what human cognition is
capable of, and it plays an important role in the formation of the scientific worldview in
schoolchildren.
The 1970 are considered a new stage in the work of K. R. Uluturk. Along with the
ideological and political aspect, an important period of the poets 'and writers' creativity in terms
of literary development coincides with these years. Seeing the injustices of the Soviet regime,
new tasks appeared in front of the works of prominent representatives of our literature. It was
the sacred duty of every citizen to take a closer part in the people's struggle and to defend the
homeland with dignity. Along with foreign invaders, a sharp and critical attitude towards
traitors from within us is the main goal of K. R. Uluturk's works written during these years.
The attitude of each individual to all spheres of social life to which he belongs is his national
identity. Feelings of love for the homeland, trying to protect it are feelings of national self.
Thanks to the national self-consciousness, each person has a deep understanding of the historical
development of the material and spiritual wealth of the people to whom they belong, their ethnic
characteristics. "The beginning of the modern national democratic movement in the 1980 was an
impetus for a return to the ideology of Turkism. This ideology was at the forefront of the creative
style of Khalil Rza Uluturk" [6, p. 41] In his poem "My Favorite Artist" written in 1974, X. Rza
figuratively speaks about the importance of the concept of self in the human personality.
In the works of K. R. Ulutürk, the theme of patriotism found its artistic expression in the
pages of the 1980 with new shades of content. Compared to previous years, the poet began to
openly criticize and expose the political contradictions of the current government, the injustices
committed against our people, not indirectly. Thus, in the works written during these years, the
political position of K. Rza was reflected in the artistic form, which plays an important role in the
education of political culture of schoolchildren.
The ideas of national self-awareness, which formed the main line of K. R. Uluturk's work,
are more prominent in the works written by the poet during the Soviet period, especially in the
1980. As expressed in "Homeland Begins with Me", the poet first begins the struggle for national
self-consciousness within himself, and the heat of this fiery struggle seems to spread like a wave.
The brave poet takes a fearless position in expressing his thoughts, taking strength from his
struggle for freedom and taking the next step in a more courageous way.
