In the early years, photography was more difficult to be recognized by society than other 
media. However, it is also a rapidly developing field. In newspapers and on the Internet, photos are 
used for almost every article. Photographs could form the design of newspaper and internet 
publications. Photographs in articles also have the ability to influence the public. Responsible work 
such as working on the design of newspapers, placing photos in it in a logical sequence, is assigned 
to the task of the picture editor today. Despite the fact that this term has recently entered 
photojournalism, for its services, the newspaper will have a beautiful appearance and it is 
considered a person who plays a good role in its sale. “The term “picture editor” refers to a 
specialist responsible for selecting and presenting high-quality photographs for a newspaper” [4]. 
Today, in newspapers, this task is performed by ordinary page-proofs (in Russian 
“
верстка
”). When we look at the press of Uzbekistan, we can see that in some newspapers the 
photos are beautifully edited and well edited and collaged. For example, when looking through the 
2020-2022 editions of the “Ishonch” newspaper, we saw that in 2020 the newspaper was edited by 
an ordinary editor, and photos were simply placed between the articles. 
However, we can observe very good changes in the latest 2021-2022 issues of the 
newspaper. Such changes can be seen not only in the photos placed between the articles in the 
newspaper, but also on the front page of the newspaper. It also boldly made changes in the 
information section where the name and logo of the newspaper is located. The info section looks 
nice compared to other local newspapers. For instance, in the newspapers “Yangi Uzbekiston”, 
“Hurriyat”, “Xalq so’zi” the information and place in the pre-processed information section will be 
given without changes. In the “Ishonch” newspaper, you can see that the information is moved to 
the middle of the page in some issues of the newspaper, and to the right or left of the page in some 
issues.
Basically, we can see that such changes were deliberately developed at a time when the 
newspaper was focused on some topic or for the best article in the newspaper. 
For example, in the March 6, 2021 29-30-32 (4471) issue of the “Ishonch” newspaper, as 
well as 149 (4745) of December 1, 2022 on the left, in number 2 (4598) of January 6, 2022, 57 
(4653) dated May 14, 2022 - is placed on the right side of the issue, indicating that a separate design 
is developed for each issue of the newspaper. 
In special issues 137-144 (4740) of the newspaper dated November 11, 2022, it can be seen 
that the quotes of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan are placed at the top of the 
newspaper, and the info section is placed below it. In issue 78 (4674) of the newspaper dated June 
21, 2022, we can see that the name of the newspaper is given on the background of the clear sky 
above the waving flag, Constitution books of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Such a practice is not 
found in newspapers such as “Yangi O’zbekiston”, “Xalq so’zi”, “Hurriyat”. In them, the 
information section will be placed in the section reserved for it in the newspaper. 
It is also worth noting that the press of Uzbekistan often publishes photos that convey good 
mood to people and inform about people's happy days. We came to this conclusion after reading the 
local newspapers “Yangi O’zbekiston”, “Xalq so’zi”, “Hurriyat”. In this regard, “Ishonch” 
newspaper differs slightly in terms of photojournalism. In this newspaper, you can feel the effort to 
reflect the real life style of the population. 
As visual journalists, we are responsible for documenting society and preserving its history 
through images. Here, photojournalists must pay attention to the rules of ethics. For example, in the 
article “Uzbekistan's initiatives - in practice: the Convention on the Rights of Persons with 
Disabilities was ratified” in the June 1, 2021, issue 110 (366) of “Yangi O’zbekiston” newspaper, 4
