One of the most striking examples of the influence of fine art on design is the “Art Deco”
style, which developed at the beginning of the 20th century. It combined elements of fine art, such
as geometric shapes, bright colors and a variety of textures, with a functional design. The Art Deco
style was significantly influenced by such artistic trends as Cubism, Constructivism and futurism,
intertwined with Japanese, Aztec, ancient Egyptian and other exotic motifs. This style inspired
many designers and had a significant impact on modern interior design, furniture and fashion.
Visual art can also influence design through the use of symbols and metaphors. Many artists
use symbols and metaphors in their works to convey certain ideas or concepts. These symbols can
be borrowed by designers and used to create unique and memorable design elements that help
communicate with the audience.
Finally, visual art and design interact at the level of cultural context. Art is a reflection of
culture and society, and design often reflects the same values and ideas. Cultural elements such as
traditions, customs and symbols can be incorporated into the design to create products that
correspond to a particular culture or group of people.
In conclusion, I would like to say that fine art plays an important role in modern design. It
provides designers with ideas, inspiration and various tools to create unique and functional
products. Through the use of color, shape, texture, symbols and cultural elements, visual art has a
strong influence on the visual aspects of design and helps to create aesthetically attractive and
meaningful products for modern society.
