Environmental challenges and declining modernism are some of the top challenges countries. Azerbaijan should promote the tourism industry and attract foreign investors to address these issues.

The rapid development of all sectors of the economy over the last century has resulted in an increase in the negative impact of human activities on the environment and the overuse of natural resources. Preservation of ecological balance, rational use of natural resources, protection of water, soil and air from pollution have become a universal problem. In addition to demographic growth, concerns such as the sharp increase in consumption and the depletion of non-renewable natural resources in the future have also affected environmental thinking and activities. Undoubtedly, environmental problems concern all people, and the study of these problems is one of the most important requirements for human development.

Maintaining the necessary balance between the economy, society and the environment in the context of the global environmental crisis can only be achieved through the formation of a new environmentally safe and economically optimal model of development - sustainable development. Although each country has its own environmental strategy and policy, global goals are aimed at ensuring that people live in a healthy environment, protecting and developing the environmental values ​​of society, and improving the quality of the environment.

In recent years, Azerbaijan has made significant progress in social and economic development, and the sustainability of these achievements has been identified as a key priority. Carrying out large-scale work to solve environmental problems in Azerbaijan, state policy aimed at improving the environmental situation is an important part of the country's sustainable development strategy.

To ensure environmental security, minimize and improve environmental pollution, rational use of natural resources to meet the needs of present and future generations, use alternative energy sources and achieve energy efficiency, assess needs at the national level on global environmental issues, identify solutions, international Expanding relations with organizations is one of the main directions of the country's environmental policy.

The application of clean technologies to solve the existing environmental problems related to the development of all sectors of the economy in the country is given great importance. In order to attract investments to the "green economy", measures are being taken to make extensive use of environmentally friendly alternative energy sources, reduce greenhouse gases, and use energy efficiently in industry, transport, construction and other areas.

After our country gained independence and chose the path of a market economy, environmental policy in the field of environmental protection in Azerbaijan has gained new momentum and begun to take shape. This is also explained by the perception of environmental issues as a universal problem. The "Environmental Concept of the Republic of Azerbaijan" based on the principles of "Sustainable Development" can be mentioned as the first document on environmental policy in our country during this period. The concept reflects the basic principles for solving problems of great importance for our country in terms of environmental protection.

According to the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, everyone has the right to live in a healthy environment, to collect information about the real state of the environment and to receive compensation for damage to his health and property in connection with environmental violations. No one may endanger or damage the environment or natural resources beyond the limits established by law. The state also guarantees the maintenance of ecological balance. At the same time, protecting the environment is everyone's responsibility.

Taking into account the very important role of the environment and ecology in ensuring the health of the population and food security, a consistent and effective state policy is being implemented in our country to protect the ecological balance.

Protecting the ecology and improving the environment in our country has been an important part of the multifaceted activities of national leader Heydar Aliyev. One of the priorities of Azerbaijan's development strategy is to ensure the highest level of nature protection, improvement of the ecological situation and living of citizens in a healthy natural environment. This strategy, founded by the great leader, is successfully continued by his worthy successor, President Ilham Aliyev. On the initiative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, 2010 has been declared the "Year of Ecology" in Azerbaijan. Under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, important work is being done in our country to solve environmental problems, protect the environment and restore ecological balance. National programs on ecologically sustainable socio-economic development, restoration and afforestation are being implemented. The Heydar Aliyev Foundation's "Let's plant a tree" project, which serves to protect the ecology and the environment, has also made great contributions to this area. As part of this project initiated by the President of the Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO Mehriban Aliyeva, hectares of land in our country have been planted with greenery. The work done in our country in the field of environmental protection within the IDEA - International Dialogue Campaign for Environmental Protection on the initiative of Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva is an indicator of the importance attached to environmental problems in Azerbaijan.
