Your “15 minutes of fame” is the time 
when you’re famous for a short period 
of time. For example, by appearing on 
TV. The expression comes from artist 
Andy Warhol who once said, “In the 
future, everyone will be world-famous 
for 15 minutes." These days, the phrase 
is often used negatively to refer to 
people who will do anything to be 
famous.
