Abstract English is the official international language. While the official language means the language used in official communication, as in law and correspondence and as a language that is recognized as a means of interaction related to the implementation of the function of a position. Official language is not actually the language that people generally use, but the language used by the government of a country.English is an international language and about 51 countries use English as the official language in the country. There are five countries speak English as their first language, namely, the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada . Some countries such as Singapore, Philippines, Hong Kong, and India appoint English as the second language 1. Although Indonesia is not a country that uses English as the official language, English still has an important role in the life of the state, especially if you want to establish relations with foreign countries, besides that English should remain one of the skills that must be possessed by people in Indonesia. Everyone should be able to speak English because mastering English can have a lot of positive impacts on them. The popularity of English as the most widely used language around the world today spreads across most non-English speaking countries 2. Many benefits are obtained by learning English. For the examples, we often find products around us using English as a guide to its use.For college students, mastering English is very important, for example, many universities use English as one of the graduation requirements, namely by requiring students to take the TOEFL test and college students have to reach a certain minimum score that has been set by the campus to be
able to do the judiciary. The importance of English is not only limited to students, but also the general public will get many benefits if they master English. Content The role of English in our lives is one of the reasons why we must learn English. Learning English is not as difficult as we imagined. Learning English can go through many activities, even in our daily lives sometimes we don't realize that we have studied English. Here are some tips to learn English in a fun and easy way 1. Listen to English songs Who doesn't like songs? Almost everyone cannot avoid songs every day, not a few people also think that songs are their friends in all the conditions they are facing. Song is a medium to describe feelings, when sad, happy, upset, and anxious songs can often understand our condition. Well, in learning English, we have to listen to songs in English. We can listen to it in the music application of our choice. By listening to English, we have trained our listening, besides that we also practice our speaking by imitating the pronunciation of a word, and we also add to our vocabulary collection. In listening to this song, we should occasionally look at the lyrics, if we find a word that we don't know the meaning of we can look up its meaning in the dictionary after that, it is better if we have new vocabulary recorded in the notes so that when we forget we can reopen it. 2. Watch movies with English subtitles Watching movies is an entertainment that always be done in spare time. People are often willing to spend money to watch their favorite movies. But do you know that by watching movies we can learn English? By watching movies not only getting entertainment, but we can also learn English by using English subtitles on the films we watch. If there is a vocabulary that is not understood, we can write it down and also look for its meaning. Playing games has become a hobby even some people playing games can be their job, you know, because by playing games people can also earn money. By playing this game we can learn English. The games here must be in English, such as Scrabble, Hangman, Find words, and others. 5. Have a conversation with friends Chatting with friends is something that sometimes makes you lose track of time because it's fun and gets lost in the atmosphere. Chatting is also something that is not boring and can avoid feeling lonely. Chatting can be a means of learning English by chatting in English with friends. By chatting, we can practice our speaking skills. In learning English, don't think too much about grammar, friends because the key to communication is how both parties can understand every sentence that is conveyed, the most important thing for beginners is how to make the person we are chatting with know the meaning or what we are talking about. English as a condition to graduate In some universities in Indonesia English is a language that must be mastered by college students. It is proved by some colleges that have tefl tests as one of the graduation requirements. For example, InstitutTeknologiSepuluhNopember, one of the best universities located in surabaya city has a graduation requirement in tefl tests. Each student on this campus has a minimum tefl score of 477 to be able to judicial (graduation). If the student has a tefl score below that then he or she must repeat it until he passes the test. 2. Many jobs have English mastery requirements It is undeniable that nowaday everyone wants to have a high-paying job. Many people are trying to be able to work in international companies. However, to be able to work in a large company especially on an international scale is not easy. Many rivals will
make the selection process harder. Usually someone who has English language skills will have more value to be accepted in a company. 3. Student Exchange If somebody asked who wants to join the student exchange program, surely everyone will answer wanting to join this activity because by joining the activities we can walk abroad even sometimes we do not need to spend a penny, besides the experience and relationships obtained are also very much. No wonder everyone wants to join this program. However, to join this program is not easy because everyone who registers must go through several stages and must alsomeet the conditions. One of the conditions is having a fairly high tefl test score.Generally The selection requirements have good academic achievement, healthy, can master foreign languages, especially English, and the last is interview. 4. Requirements for further higher education in some colleges In some universities in Indonesia to continue studying S2 prospective students must meet the minimum toefl grades that have been given by the campus. These two universities located in Bandung require prospective undergraduate students to have and meet the minimum toefl score requirements that have been set. 5. Scholarship abroad Getting a scholarship to be able to attend school abroad is a dream for all students. Everyone wants to study abroad especially by getting a scholarship so there is no need to spend a penny. Being able to study abroad will be more value for us when we want to apply for a scholarship. This certainly adds to our insight and experience of life outside our country.
English plays an important role in our everyday life; there is a Great utility of English in the modern world. So, the use of English should be continued along with Hind and other regional languages.

Even job advertisements in the local market also require English knowing people. People who go abroad for work also need to know English. English is a need for a variety of jobs as an air hostess, pilot, travel guide, media manager, etc. For Information: In today’s world of the information superhighway, English is essential for getting easy access to any information. Almost any information is available in English. English is the language of information technology and the internet.
In Media and Entertainment: English is important for access to world media and Entertainment. Satellite channels around the world telecast news and views in English. Games and sports are telecast live and their commentaries are also broadcasted in English. Cinemas, cartoons, and other media productions are available in English.
