Why do we use Apologies?
You're showing that you respect the other person's feelings. You value their friendship. Apologizing is a chance for you to be honest, humble, and act with integrity. It lets you find out that your words and actions can also have a positive effect on others — and on you.
When should we say apologies?
If we hurt, tease, insult, yell at, or disrespect someone. If we lose or break something of theirs, even if we didn't mean to. If we were unfair or harsh. If we did something we knew was wrong, like telling a lie, posting hurtful comments, spreading a rumor, or breaking a rule on purpose.
We use this phrase when someone is waiting for us. I won’t be long = I will be with you very soon.
This is a more formal apology, and it is often used in business letters.
I’m sorry
The most common way is to use the phrase “I'm sorry.” We can also add “for” followed by a noun, for example: “I'm sorry for the mistake I made” or “I'm sorry for the way I reacted.” If we want to give a slightly longer explanation with a verb, we can add “that,” for example: “I'm sorry that I forgot your birthday,
How to say apology?
Every apology should start with two magic words: "I'm sorry," or "I apologize." For example, you could say: "I'm sorry that I snapped at you yesterday. I feel embarrassed and ashamed by the way I acted." Your words need to be sincere and authentic .
Excuses
We often give an explanation or excuse after an apology. An excuse is a reason for the apology, which may or may not be true. These are excuses students might give for being late for class.
Excuses
To give false reasons why you cannot do something:
You're always making excuses for not helping me.
When I asked him why he was late, he gave me some excuse about having car trouble.
I’m sorry I’m late for class …
[when a train, plane, etc. leaves or arrives later than you expect]
[the train company decided not to run the train],
[slept longer than I planned or wanted to].
How can we use excuse?
To forgive someone for something that they have done, for example not being polite or making a small mistake excuse something. Please excuse the mess. Excuse somebody: You must excuse my friend—he's not always that rude. Excuse somebody for something/for doing something: I hope you'll excuse me for being so late.
Ninety-nine percent of the failures come from people who have the habit of making excuses.

Thanks
Thanks means gratitude or recognition in response to someone acting in a kind or generous way. If your favorite teacher retires, you might throw a big party for her as a way of giving thanks.
THANKS
A less formal way to say “thank you” in English is “thanks.” If you're expressing gratitude to someone you have a formal relationship with, such as your boss or the call center agent you're talking to on the phone, then "thank you" is the polite way to do it
A: Thanks (very much). B: Not at all. (also That’s OK.)
A: I’ve brought your books. B: Oh, cheers. A: No problem.
A: I’ll post those letters for you. B: Oh, thank you. That’s very kind of you. (This is polite and slightly more formal.)
Personal thank you
I appreciate you!
You are the best.
I appreciate your help so much.
I'm grateful to you.
I wanted to thank you for your help.
I value the help you've given me.
I am so thankful for you in my life.
Thanks for the support.
How can we say thanks?
Why is thanks important?
Gratitude is a way for people to appreciate what they have, instead of always reaching for something new in the hope it will make them happier, or thinking they can't feel satisfied until every physical and material need is met. Gratitude helps people refocus on what they have instead of what they lack. How do you accept thanks? Replies showing you are very happy to help
