UNECE maintains and regularly updates the Inventory of Main
Standards and Parameters of the E Waterway Network (Blue
Book), which includes lists of E ports, bottlenecks and missing links.
The Blue Book database is available on UNECE website at

The European Code for Inland Waterways (CEVNI) contains the
core rules applicable to the traffic on inland waterways in the
UNECE region. These harmonized rules constitute the legal and
technical basis for national inland waterway codes in UNECE
member States. It is maintained by the Group of Experts from
member States and River Commissions. The fifth revised edition of
CEVNI was issued in 2015. CEVNI is supported by the Signs and
