•  Field data (our researches on Anglicisms in both modern and traditional means of 

communication)  

Facebook (March 2011) - The research results revealed that the marked lexicon 

comprised about 15-25% of the entire vocabulary, out of which loan-words and phrases 

made 5-7%.   

Text messages (April 2011) - The total number of linguistic features either 

typographically or lexically marked is 13.64% out of which 70 instances of Anglicisms 

were recorded, which represented 1.48% of OMC. 

Daily newspapers (May, June 2011) – The data analyzed contained only 279 Anglicisms 

in 1.127 articles (303.408 words). 

•  Conclusions:“You can run, but you cannot hide”
