Magnification of Pearls
On dissolves small beads in our et the mass is left to digest slowly, until it forms a thick porridge; - from this pulp, pearls of the desired size are formed, which are pierced at the same time with horsehair; they are pressed into a silver mold which has been carefully coated with phosphoric oil.
When working on silver lime, white oil is obtained; with golden lime, red.
White is preferable for processing pearls. Red is suitable for rubies. For these, we take ten parts of pure crystal, one part of red oil and we get the most beautiful stone.
If one mixes the white stone or the white oil with the liquor silicum, one obtains a thick juice which, by digestion with heat, becomes the hardest stone.
