Overall Goal: To test fail-over and recovery of the Avaya Aura Platform for disaster recovery.
Pre-Test Confirmation: Perform translation backup on Avaya Aura Communication Manager and System Manager Servers. Verify backup configurations are stored on file server.
Test Point #1: Test Processor Interchange between the Primary and Secondary servers. A “stop -acf” command will be issued to the active server to simulate a server-down scenario, forcing the Secondary server to become ACTIVE.
Metric 1: What is the actual time to restoral-of-service/down-time for the G430/G450 Media Gateways after the Interchange?
Result 1:No outage
Metric 2: What is the time to restoral-of-service/down-time for the SIP Trunk Connectivity between Avaya Aura Communication Manager and Avaya Aura Session Manager servers?
Result 2:No outage
Metric 3: Are there any connections that are not fully returned into service after the Interchange? Is this an expected or unexpected result?
Result 3:No outage
Metric 4: What is the time to restoral of service/downtime for the adjunct Servers?
AES:No outageMM:No outage
Additional Notes/Comments:
External call testing and internal call testing completed successfully.
Test Point #2: Test Processor Failover from the Primary and Secondary servers to the Enterprise Survivable Server (ESS or Survivable-Core) located at the Disaster Recovery location. A “stop -acf” command will be issued to the active server to simulate a server-down scenario, forcing the ESS to become ACTIVE.
Test Duration: Approximately 15-25 minutes
Metric 1: What is the actual time to restoral-of-service/down-time for the G430/G450 Media Gateways after the Failover?
Result 1:Approx 3 min
Metric 2: What is the time to restoral-of-service/down-time for the SIP Trunk Connectivity between Avaya Aura Communication Manager and Avaya Aura Session Manager servers?
Result 2:As soon as MG comes up
Metric 3: Are there any connections that are not fully returned into service after the Survivable Failover? Is this an expected or unexpected result?
Result 3:_____
Metric 4: What is the time to restoral of service/downtime for the adjunct Servers (or n/a)?
AES:_____MM:_____
Additional Notes/Comments:
System update/modification requirements noted here.
Test Point Score: 40
End of Test Point # 2
Test Point #3: Test Session Manager Failover from the Primary server in the Primary site to the Secondary server in the Disaster Recovery location. The Primary server in the Primary site will require “ifdown eth2” command to simulate network failure for SIP stations and SIP trunks.
Test Duration: Approximately 15-25 minutes
Metric 1: What is the actual time to restoral-of-service/down-time for the SIP users after the Failover?
Result 1:_____
Metric 2: What is the time to restoral-of-service/down-time for the SIP Trunk Connectivity between Avaya Aura Communication Manager and Avaya Aura Session Manager servers?
Result 2:_____
Metric 3: Are there any connections that are not fully returned into service after the Survivable Failover? Is this an expected or unexpected result?
Result 3:_____
Metric 4: Test internal and external call routing. Are there any routing issues? Is this an expected result?
Test Point #4: Test Session Border Controller Failover from the Primary server in the Primary site to the Secondary server in the Disaster Recovery location. Internet Telephony Service Provider (ITSP) to engage in failover scenario.
Test Duration: Approximately 15-25 minutes
Metric 1: Test internal and external call routing. Are there any routing issues? Is this an expected result?
