Theme: Manner and Mannerism .
What's the difference?

Mannerism is a derived term of manner.

As nouns the difference between mannerism and manner is that mannerism is a group of verbal or other unconscious habitual behaviors peculiar to an individual or mannerism can be (arts or literature) in literature, an ostentatious and unnatural style of the second half of the sixteenth century in the contemporary criticism, described as a negation of the classicist equilibrium, pre-baroque, and deforming expressiveness while manner is mode of action; way of performing or effecting anything; method; style; form; fashion.
Manner: the personal style of someone. Maybe her style is to be soft-spoken, or her manner is to be busy and moving all the time. It is her natural way of relating to others or to the environment.

Mannerism: to me that would indicate a gesture or an expression that the person uses from time to time—it is repeated and very part of the person’s overall manner. Certain often used hand gestures can be mannerisms, or a certain tone of voice, or verbal expression can be a mannerism.
Conduct: That is behavior. What does the person DO in relation to you and to others. What behaviors are frequently seen in this person when in situations where you and others are present? For example, if a person has polite conduct, he or she may open doors for others, or say ‘please’ and ‘thank-you’ at appropriate times.
Demeanor: Similar to both manner and conduct, a person’s demeanor may change given the situation, depending on how the person perceives what is going on around her. Sometimes it is deliberate behavior, to adjust to a situation. For example, a person’s demeanor may deliberately change when in the presence of a judge or police officer. And it may change again when with familiar friends. Demeanor can be more controlled and deliberate than manner, and definitely ties into conduct at that particular time and place. What is the difference between manner and mannerisms?
