Western Medicine vs. Natural Medicine

Reactive vs. Proactive

Toxify vs. Detoxify

Suppression vs. Root cause healing

Essential Oils: alive, transdermal, oxygenating, and smart (adaptogenic)

Aromatic, volatile liquid that is within many shrubs, flowers, trees, roots, bushes and seeds that is usually extracted through steam distillation

Very complex chemistry, may consist of hundreds of different and unique chemical compounds

Highly concentrated (5,000 lbs. of rose petals to make 1 kilo of rose oil)

Powerful antimicrobials

History of essential oils: from ancient times

Frequency of body and frequencies of oils

Root cause of illness: the “second brain”

“All diseases begin in the gut” – Hippocrates, 460 – 370 BCE

Many treatments are helpful, but if you don’t address your digestive health, often problems continue and chronic illness can develop

Diet: decrease the amount of toxins you are consuming

  • Organic (“dirty dozen”, “clean 15”)

  • Decrease processed carbs

  • No preservatives, dyes, artificial flavors, MSG, etc. etc. etc.

  • Use natural sweeteners (avoid refined sugar, HFCS, artificial sweeteners)

Important: probiotics (supplement and fermented foods)

“There are more of them (microbes) than there are of us” (90% of our body is microbes and their DNA)

** Autism, ADD/ADHD, depression, anxiety, dyslexia/dyspraxia, schizophrenia, asthma, eczema, food allergies, autoimmune disorders … they all have a root cause in the gut (symptoms of toxicity)

Natural ways to detoxify and support digestive system:

- Essential oils

- Detox baths

- Juicing

- Healing diets

Why discuss digestion with women’s health?

- “we are what we eat”

- some digestive disorders are more common in women than men (IBS, gallstones)

- hormones: depend on cholesterol and other nutrients to be made and function

- we pass our gut flora on to our children: determines their future health

- autoimmune disorders: related to gut health

Ylang ylang is also effective at dispelling anger (think Joy).

Reproductive System: FemiGen may help build and balance the reproductive system and help maintain better hormonal balance for developmental years all the way through menopause.

Restless Legs: Restless legs are caused by the body dumping acid into the system at night. In the evening before bed, take 1 Tbs. JuvaPower (in water or nut milk), followed by ½ tsp. of AlkaLime in water. Then apply 2-3 drops each of valerian, Roman chamomile, and lavender to the back of the neck and base of skull.

Sleep: lavender (on the spine), RutaVaLa, Peace & Calming, Tranquil roll-on, Stress Away … apply topically, mist on sheets, diffuse, make massage oils. SleepEssence is a supplement that can also be helpful. Lavender/cedarwood combo is amazing as well.

Uterine health: frankincense, lemon and cedarwood applied topically. Uterine inflammation can be decreased using elemi topically.

Vaginal yeast infection: Melaleuca (Melrose), oregano, thyme, myrrh, bergamot and geranium can all be helpful. You can mix a little probiotic powder in yogurt and apply directly on location. Melaleuca, or Melrose, can be applied neat over the lower belly and also mixed in coconut oil and used as an external cream. Purification also contains melaleuca. Also: address digestion!

Varicose veins: 1-3 drops each of basil and Aroma Siez, massage above the affected vein toward the heart; cypress (as a bath oil), lemongrass, lemon, peppermint and Aroma Life can be helpful; dilute as recommended and apply from ankles up the legs; consistent application of oils for an extended period of time is key. Helichrysum dissolves the coagulated blood inside and outside of the veins, cypress strengthens the veins. Massage above the vein twice a day, wear support hose until healed, it may take 3 months to a year to heal completely; vary the essential oils used.
