Q221. Which option is healthier, eating three large meals a day or
eating four to five small meals a day?
A. Sample Answer
It is much healthier to eat three large meals a day instead of several smaller meals. First of all,
eating three large meals is just as effective at keeping your body full and satiated as eating several
small meals. If you eat enough at breakfast, your body most likely won’t be hungry until lunch time
anyway. You don’t need several small meals throughout the day to keep your hunger levels down. As
I don’t
get hungry very often, eating four to five small meals a day would be too much for me. To
continue, I simply don’t have the time or capability of eating four to five small meals a day. I work
full-time in a setting that doesn’t permit several breaks for eating meals. I have time for breakfast in
the morning, lunch during my lunch break, and then dinner when I get home. It would be inconvenient
for me to rearrange my schedule in order to accommodate four to five small meals a day. The added
stress from doing that would just lead to poorer health. Thus, I think it’s healthier for me to stick to
my three-meal schedule.
