ABSTRACT 

Using Possibilities of Remote Sensing Technics in Land Consolidation 

Planning Stage 

 

Land consolidation studies are being carried out in most country of 

the world for increase productivity and provide sustainable production. 

Putting into practice of land consolidation projects as soon as possible is 

depend on the collecting and processing the data required for planning stage 

in a short time and properly. 

In this study, it is tried to find out whether planning data required in 

planning studies which is one of most important phase of land consolidation 

studies can be obtained using remote sensing techniques. Study were carried 

out in Eskisarıbey, Yenisarıbey, Ortasarıbey and Sazlıca village of Bursa-

Karacabey district and Landsat 5 TM satellite image in 06.08.1998 was used 

to carry out the study. To find out the planning data from satellite image, 

supervised and unsupervised classification and interpretation methods were 

used in ERDAS-Imagine software. As a result of study, satellite images were 

used to determine existing land use, settlements and fixed buildings, main 

irrigation and drainage canals and main roads as land consolidation 

planning data, on the other hand, information about land segmentation and 

parcellation could not be identified by images.
