“cross over”
Moses
Joshua
Elijah
These men found a formidable barrier of water to be swept
out of their way by God’s awesome power.
Rebecca
Rahab
Ruth
These woman saw obstacles and handicaps vanish into thin
air so that a fruitful and fulfilling future could be theirs.
OBSTRUCTION. IGNORANCE and HOPELESSNESS. GOD
HELPED THEM TO CROSS OVER IT!
*________ God’s presence, nothing can _________ us!
A parable of Jesus. A brief description of hell. A man who had
been very rich on earth.
Torment
. Formerly a man who gave
orders and enjoyed luxury.
Powerless
.
A key point is the description of God’s presence (heaven) “
far away.
” Could he
get there to escape the torment? Could someone come from there to rescue him?
Positively NOT. Why not
? “a great (uncrossable) chasm”
*__________ ________ God’s presence, nothing can _________ us!
A teaching of Jesus. Judgement. Condemnation.
Severe criticism of Jesus for “making himself equal to
God.” But Jesus said, this reality was not of his own making.
Truth simply is what it is. It is impossible to reject the Son and honor
the Father. How do I honor the Son?
Hear.
Believe.
What happens when I do this? Eternal Life. Forgiveness/No
condemnation
SIN. CELL ON DEATH ROW. PARDON. CROSS OVER PRISON
YARD. FREE.
