The order in which data are read and processed is provided below. The list is not exhaustive, but provides a guide to the data input process.

Read parameters (variables, options, etc) from .tcf file.

Read any material data from .tmf file.

Open .tgc file:
-
Locate and orientate 2D grids.
-
Allocate memory for 2D domains.
-
Identify any 2d_fc flow constrictions (FC).
-
Identify any 2d_po (PO) time-series output.
-
Identify any 2d_lp (LP) time-series output.
-
Open .tbc file:
-
Read through 2D boundary conditions.
-
Allocate memory for 2D boundary conditions.
-
Return to .tgc file:
-
Process instructions in .tgc file to build 2D domains.
-
Finish reading information from .tcf file, including:
-
Read any 2d_fc flow constrictions (FC).
-
Read any 2d_po (PO) time-series output.
-
Read any 2d_lp (LP) time-series output.
-
Open .ecf file (if 2D/1D model):
-
Read parameters (variables, options, etc) from .ecf file.
-
Read all 1D node information from all 1d_nwk layers.
-
Read all WLL information from all 1d_wll layers.
-
Read all table link information from all 1d_ta layers.
-
Read all 1D channel information from all 1d_nwk layers.
-
Any channel cross-section information from 1d_ta table links or external sources (eg. MIKE 11 .txt or ISIS .pro files) are processed.
-
Any bridge loss coefficient tables from 1d_ta table links are processed.
-
Parameters for any culverts or weirs written to temporary file (_cnch.tmp).
-
Read all table link information for 1D node storages (NA tables) from all 1d_ta layers.
-
Process any initial water level commands (eg. Read 1d_iwl layers).
-
Read any fixed field CS tables.
-
Read any fixed field NA tables.
-
Allocate memory for topography.
-
Read any boundary condition data and allocate memory.
-
Read any structure parameters and allocate memory.
-
Repeat above and retain information in memory.
-
Carry out pre-processing and checking tasks.
-
Read 2D boundary conditions into memory and write 2d_bc check file.

Carry out pre-processing and check tasks:

Unit conversions
-
Pre-process linear and cubic spline interpolation tables.
-
Initialise variables and arrays and carry out checks.
-
Set any flow constriction (FC) obverts on 2D cells.
-
Set starting wet/dry flags or read initial conditions from a restart file.
-
Write 2d_grd and 2d_zpt check files.
-
Write .2dm file.
-
Automatically create any 1D HX boundaries from 2D SX boundaries and check.
-
Automatically create any 1D QX boundaries from 2D HX boundaries and check.
-
Start simulation.
