- History of English language in New Zealand
English came to New Zealand with the first British settlers in the early 19th century, replacing the
indigenous Mori language as the dominant means of communication. The language quickly spread
throughout the country, and by the 1870s, it had become the primary language spoken by the majority of
New Zealanders. Today, the language has evolved to include unique New Zealand slang and idioms, and
has been heavily influenced by the Mori language. Additionally, due to its close proximity to Australia
and the United Kingdom, the New Zealand variety of English shares many similarities with Australian
and British English, while still retaining its distinct character.

- New Zealand culture and traditions
New Zealand culture and traditions are heavily influenced by the Maori people, who have inhabited the
islands for over a thousand years. The Maori have a deep connection to the land, and their art, tattoos, and
songs reflect this relationship. The Haka, a traditional Maori dance, is now performed by the New Zealand
national rugby team before each game, symbolizing the strength and unity of the team. Other notable
customs include the kiwi accent, which is a unique variation of English, the celebration of Waitangi Day,
which commemorates the signing of the treaty between the Maori and the British, and the traditional
Maori feast known as a hangi, which involves cooking food in an earth oven.
- Education system in New Zealand
New Zealand's education system is widely regarded as one of the best in the world in terms of quality
and accessibility. The country has a strong commitment to education and provides free education to
its citizens, including international students who meet certain requirements. The system is divided into
primary, secondary and tertiary levels, with a strong focus on early childhood education. The country's
universities are among the top-ranked institutions globally and offer a range of programs to international
students. Moreover, the government ensures that graduates are equipped with the skills needed to succeed
in a constantly evolving global economy.
