Write your own answers to questions 1 and 3 on the
board, mixed in with a few other things people can
be afraid of. Ask students to guess which answers are
your real answers. Give some background information
as they guess the correct answers.
Vocabulary preview
Encourage the students to use their monolingual
dictionaries to help with any new words. After
checking answers, give them time to write the words,
the part of speech, and the word stress in their
vocabulary notebooks.
