Activities of Participants

Read two texts related to the practical application of social and emotional learning on 
students’ academic success. 

Complete extensive question sets for each text. 

Complete a research essay about the use of SEL.

Prepare a lesson plan based on the material within the texts. 
Evidence of Learning Outcomes
Upon successfully completing this course, the student will have demonstrated knowledge and 
application of social and emotional learning (SEL) by reading texts and responding to short essay 
questions. The student will also demonstrate the ability to apply their understanding of the 
objectives through critical thinking and writing skills by completing comprehensive projects.
