Boy’s Dreams Come True
A five-year-old boy from a poor family in Afghanistan and a fan of Lionel Messi captured the Internet’s heart for customising a plastic bag into a Lionel Messi shirt because his family could not afford a real one.
The boy’s dream came true when Messi, a goodwill ambassador for UNICEF, sent a package to him containing his two teams’ soccer jerseys – Argentina and Barcelona – and a ball, to symbolise a child’s right to play.
Murtaza Ahmadi now proudly wears his new football jersey bearing Messi’s famous number 10, as he has a kick about.
Difficult words: goodwill (good), ambassador (somebody who represents something), jersey (a sports shirt), a kick about (a quick football game).
