Conclusion
Therefore, strong secular or moderate Islamist regimes have acted and continue to act as natural allies against radical Islamism, even if we do not particularly like either one or the other. They are better than radical terrorists, because it should be remembered that when state power is weakened, Islamism, including radical Islamism, very quickly spreads its rules to “ownerless” territories.
