The creating ways of homonyms in the Azerbaijan and English languages
(Summary)
In both languages homonyms are words identical in sound form, but they differ in meanings. In Azerbaijani homonyms appear as a result of lexical, morphological syntactical changes. What is concerning lexical changes homonyms appear such as: as a result of polysemy, resemblance of meaning (metaphor and metonymy), toponymy, euphemism, random sound compatibility, borrowing words etc. In English homonyms appear as a result of phonetical and morphological changes, conversion, the disintegration of polysemy, homonymy of borrowed words to native words, conversion, shortening (abbreviation).
