interpersonal communication media n. one on one interaction between individuals within a society, including the processes by which people communicate thoughts, feelings, and ideas to others, both verbally and non-verbally. Communicative acts may be direct or indirect, for example face-to-face conversation or a computer-mediated exchange of messages. Successful interpersonal communication depends on the existence or creation of shared meanings and implications so that participants can effectively interpret elements including words, tones of voice, facial expressions, body language, and clothing.
