4: Digital Image Processing Course Structure: Lectures: 2 /
Labs: 1 Credit Hours: 3 Prerequisites: Introduction to Remote Sensing Objectives: This course builds on the introductory Remote Sensing unit
and provides practical application of digital image processing of remotely
sensed data for analysis of earth resources. This unit focuses on various
aspects of digital image processing of remotely sensed data sets
originating from a number of satellites. Various aspects of digital image
processing (image pre processing, image classification, accuracy
assessment etc.) to extract useful information such as land cover maps
from the remotely sensed digital data are focused in this subject via
working on a real life project.
