Numerous debates have lately been emerged as to what is the best way to teach pupils at school. While I partly agree with the idea that using computer and playing some movies at classroom could make lesson productive, I also believe that there are some benefits that can only books offer in teaching.
On the one hand in our technological world, it is the difficult to attract the learners to lesson by using traditional method. Current children are addicted to modern devices, such as computer, even for their study, for this reason, they sometimes find that gaining knowledge by books is a bit out of date. Instead, if teachers use cutting-edge technologies when they are teaching, it would make lesson more interactive. For example, there are some social platforms, namely “Kahoot” and “Wordwall”, and some movies which are oriented to teach different kind of subject using various games. To use these websites, schoolrooms should be equipped with monitor and access to use computer.
On the other hand, in my point of view, books are useful for both student and school in terms of affordability. Pupils usually are provided with paper books and materials in the beginning of the term and they spent money only one time on school tools but they can use them until the end of the school term. However if the school authorities want to use modern technology in classroom they have to be internet access, projector to play movies that cost a lot and some school authorities and teachers cannot afford installing them. Moreover, books help pupils improve their imagination and make them well-rounded because when they read something, they create the image of every character and event on the book in their mind. Therefore books sometimes are irreplaceable in teaching.
In conclusion, technological developments could make lessons more interactive, I believe that books are very useful for school learners in terms of in terms of cheapness and helpfulness for the student’s imagination.
