Material and methods
The present study included 42 patients with various forms of simulation. The material was taken from
The Military Medical Commission among young men aged 18-35 years (24 ± 4,5).To all patients there were
conducted the following standard methods: visual acuity, refraction before and after cycloplegia, tonometry, slit-
lamp and indirect ophthalmoscope evaluation of an anterior and posterior segment of the eye. Depending on
the nature of the simulation there were additional methods of examination: computer perimetry of visual field
(Tomey); electrophysiological studies (ROLAND CONSULT – Super colour-Ganzfeld 0450 SC, Germany) –
electroretinography (ERG), the definition of visually evoked potentials (VEP), optical coherence tomography
(OCT (Cirrus HD OCT, Model 300)), corneal topography of the cornea, color test and encouraging the patients
different tests, such as confusion or fogging were performed.
