Theme 1. Are you a culture vulture? In this lesson Ss read about what different people like doing at weekend and talk about how they like spending their free time and talking about their hobby activities. Present Simple tense.
Theme 2. Monday to Friday. In this lesson Ss listen to a man and a woman talking about the professional motorbike raiser and the things he does on a typical day. Ss than talk about own daily routines and lifestyles. Adverbs of frequency.
Theme 3. At the same time. In this lesson Ss read a text from a social networking site. Through this context they consider the use and form of the Present Continuous and practice time phrases. Interrogative and Negative forms of the tense.
Theme 4. Music 007. In this lesson Ss read and learn new information about famous singers and musicians. They learn to use Past Simple tense. Interrogative and negative form Past Simple tense. Irregular verbs.
Theme 5. Barefoot music.
In this lesson SS read a text about singer Shakira and then look at the grammar of the Present Perfect Simple, using completed actions in present form and vocabulary related to achievement before talking about their own achievements. The difference between Past Simple and Present Perfect tense.
Theme 6. The Mozart effect
In this lesson, Ss read “The Mozart effect” and listen to two people talking about music. They then look at the grammar of question formation. Wh question types. Special questions in Present tenses and Past tenses.
Theme 7. Jamie’s kitchen
In this lesson Ss read about Jamie’s restaurant 15 which trains unemployed young people to be chefs and his other ventures which have tried encourage adults and children alike to eat and cook more healthily. Present Continuous in future meaning, be going to as a planned actions.
Theme 8. Ratatouille. Gr: Relative clauses
In this lesson Ss read about the film Ratatouille and through this context learn types of relative clauses and using them in sentences.
Theme 9. Going to extreme. Gr. Comparative adjectives.
In this lesson Ss read and learn about extreme sport types. Learn about adjective in the English language. Comparative adjective is a degree of adjective.
Theme 10. Survival school. Gr. Superlative adjectives.
There is a text and listening tasks in this lesson. Besides, Ss learn to use the Superlative degree of adjective.
Theme 11. Surviving in English. Grammar: Indirect questions.
There are reading, listening, speaking and writing exercises and activities about the ways of learning English and the use of it in the society, covering American and British dialects, as well as indirect questions given in these lessons. Using indirect question in speaking with right intonation in questions.
Theme 12. Turning eighteen Gr. Modal verbs: should, can, ought to.
Ss will do reading, listening exercises related to the topic. Learn about some types of modal verbs, like should, can, have to. The difference between must and have to. Can modal verb is used to express ability. Using modal verbs in practice.
Theme 13. Old friends. Grammar: Present perfect simple.
This theme gives information about the ways of getting in touch with friends and colleagues, better service and the use of Present perfect simple, and there are practice exercises for it. Using for and since in sentences.
Theme 14. The truth about ageing. Grammar: used to, past habits.
This lesson contains reading, listening, speaking and writing exercises and activities about the secrets of living long life and usage of used to. The usage of used to and would in sentences.
Theme 15. A Greek Island. Gr: will, may, might
This lesson contains reading, listening, speaking and writing exercises and activities about A Greek Island. The grammar theme is types of modal verbs, like may, might, will. Using modal verbs may, might in different tenses. Negative forms of modal verbs of will, may, might.
Theme 16. Mandela’s garden. Gr: Countable and Uncountable nouns.
This theme gives information about Nelson Mandela and his contribution to the society. Grammar theme is Noun, Countable and Uncountable nouns and collective nouns.
