annual European Studies Graduate Fellows’ Conference on “
Beyond the ‘Communist
Bloc’: New Approaches to Studying Europe, Russia, and Eurasia.” The hybrid
conference is scheduled on May 9-10, 2023 (complete schedule-

The conference can provide up to three nights’ lodging in New Haven, CT (only),
arrange/pay for round-trip airfare (or train fare, as the case may be) to New Haven, and
reimburse your airport transport to and from New Haven.
Further, to prepare for
your visit and reimbursement, please complete the Visitor Travel

, as soon as possible.
HOTEL
We
have reserved you a room at
the
Graduate Hotel (

),
which is within walking
distance of campus. The conference will
pay the hotel directly
for your room and
parking. All other incidentals are the responsibility of guests,
including meals and
charges for additional visitors who may be accompanying you on personal business.
TRAVEL TO NEW HAVEN
Please make sure you inform us of your travel itinerary in the Visitor Travel Information
Form (

). If traveling from outside of the United States and Canada, then we will
arrange your airfare.
Most of our air travelers fly
into one New York
(JFK/LaGuardia/Newark), or Hartford (Bradley) airports
then take either Metro
North/Amtrak train to New Haven.
Ground Transportation
Uber/Lyft/Taxis - When you arrive to New Haven Train
Station or the Airport, we
suggest reserving an Uber or Lyft car to your hotel and from the Airport to New York
City’s Penn Train Station for Amtrak train to New Haven.
