Overall, the article presents a valuable resource for teachers of RFL who want to incorporate
regional aspects into their lessons and provide their students with a more comprehensive learning
experience in the framework of bilingualism.

(Abstract)
Moodle is an application that serves to create and conduct internet-based
courses/training/education. In the recent years, the role of this technology has attracted research
interest in the realm of foreign language learning. The present study aimed to investigate the
effectiveness of using online Moodle platform (Moodle- Based Learning) on vocabulary learning
and retention of EFL learners. It also intended to explore the differences of extroverted and
introverted EFL learners in teaching vocabulary through Moodle- Based learning. To do so, 60
intermediate EFL learners were selected based on convenience sampling procedure and on the
result of Nelson proficiency test from a language institute in Karaj. Two tests and a questionnaire
were adopted as measurement instruments. In order to ensure the homogeneity of the participants
Nelson Proficiency Test was utilized and to assess the participants’ vocabulary knowledge a
researcher-made test were administered. Further, to identify the introversion and extroversion
participants Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) Questionnaire was employed. In order to
analyze the data, two-way ANOVA was conducted. The obtained results showed that using
Moodle-based instruction could lead to a considerable development in the vocabulary learning
and retention among EFL learners regardless of their personality types in terms of introvert and
extrovert. In other words, both introvert and extrovert EFL learners were proved to be benefited
from Moodle-based instruction of the vocabulary to the same extent. It is recommended for
educational institutions, to begin designing alternative forms of learning in addition to
conventional forms of learning. One of them is a form of learning that utilizes technology such
as online learning.
