Evaluation
: Evaluation is an important part of swimming lessons. The instructor should
evaluate the progress of each child regularly and provide feedback to parents. This helps to identify
areas where children need more support and to adjust the lessons accordingly.
Instructor qualifications
: Swimming instructors should be qualified to teach preschool
children. They should have a background in early childhood education and a valid certification in
swimming instruction. This ensures that they have the necessary knowledge and skills to teach
swimming to young children.
Equipment
: The swimming equipment used in lessons should be appropriate for preschool
children [7]. This includes floatation devices, goggles, and pool toys. The equipment should be safe
durable, and age-appropriate.
Overall, the article offers valuable insights into the best practices for teaching swimming to
preschool children. It highlights the importance of a child-centered approach, which takes into
account the individual needs and abilities of each child, and emphasizes the importance of creating
a safe and supportive learning environment. The article is relevant for teachers, parents, and
educators who are involved in the education and development of young children.
In summary, organizing and conducting swimming lessons in preschool education requires
careful consideration of the specific characteristics that are important for the physical, emotional
and social development of young children. The characteristics discussed in this literature review
include safety, play-based activities, patience and empathy, developmentally appropriate
instruction, and a supportive and inclusive learning environment. By following these characteristics,
instructors can create a positive and effective learning experience for young children in swimming
lessons. Swimming has numerous psychological and physical benefits for preschool education
pupils. Swimming can improve self-esteem and confidence, reduce anxiety and stress, and improve
social skills. These benefits highlight the importance of including swimming in preschool education
programs. Future research should explore the optimal frequency and duration of swimming for
preschool education pupils.
