aspects of the work of a psychologist, and further influences the personal and professional
development of psychologists, their professional training and professional interests and abilities.
Based on these methods, the psychologist will have to study the personal knowledge of
students, professional orientation based on changes in the behavior of ethical principles, as well as
within the framework of personal interests and individual psychological characteristics.
The essence of the above is to increase the effectiveness of the professional skills of
psychologists not only to determine their theoretical knowledge and methodological training, but
also to fulfill their duties in accordance with ethical norms and rules of professional
communication. At the same time, it is important for professional psychologists to know specific
ways to effectively communicate with people of different ages.
The essence of this issue lies in the fact that the effectiveness of the professional activity of
psychologists depends on the professional ethics of psychologists in the work carried out by
psychologists in the field of psychoprophylactic, psychodiagnostic, psychocorrective, psychological
counseling and career guidance. The psychologist is of great importance in developing the
professional skills of students in a professional direction through an in-depth study of the basic
principles of the ethics of a psychologist, outlined below.
1. Confidentiality - the confidentiality of personal information of people who have applied to
a psychologist. That is, what the client says to the psychologist, emotional experiences and secrets,
is a condition not to tell anyone.
2. Competence - compliance with the profession, knowledge and skills.
3. Responsibility - The psychologist is responsible for the psychological state of the person
to whom he is directed, and for his sustainable development.
4. Ethical and legal professional rights.
5. Properly promote the science of psychology.
6. The desire to achieve a positive and stable psychological state of the client.
7. Professional cooperation - the formation of a division of labor in working with a client.
Creating a desire for positive personal changes in the client himself.
8. Inform the client about the purpose and results of the test or study.
These principles are consistent with the standards of professional psychologists adopted by
the international community of psychologists.
One of the main features of the work of psychologists is interpersonal relationships that are
characteristic of the “person-to-person” type of professional classification of psychologists and a
responsible approach to their work from a psychologist requires a high culture of professional
communication, professional competence, professional knowledge, skills, abilities and
competencies. Wherever a practical psychologist works, he deals with people of different ages and
different social status, but it is always emphasized that each of them has individual, unique,
distinctive features and qualities.
An analysis of the scientific literature on this topic shows that professional knowledge in
psychological activity has its own professionally defined characteristics, which are distinguished by
the presence of two subjects of activity and are explained by inclusion in another field of activity in
terms of content. The student is the object of psychological influence and at the same time the
subject of cognitive activity, the teacher is the subject of educational activity and the object of
cognition in relation to the student. It is also worth noting that the form in which psychological
activity takes place is usually communication, which means that the corresponding socio-
psychological patterns are characteristic of psychological activity. Based on this, in psychological
activity, the interpersonal sphere of professionalism, as well as the intellectual sphere of the
phenomenon under study, is of particular importance.
